Recovered missing children have often been exposed to significant physical and psychological health risks prior to recovery. These risks can cause disease or illness in every organ system in the child's body. Some of these illnesses or diseases also pose a risk to first responders involved in the recovery of the child. This workshop will discuss why It is imperative for the recovered child's personal health, as well as the health of the public, that recovered missing children, receive a comprehensive medical assessment within the first day of recovery.
