The presenter will offer insight into the world of child abuse from the perspective of both a police detective and an abuse survivor. Taking the audience through his childhood experiences with abuse and continuing recovery, he provides a first-hand look at how a child deals with abuse and makes the decision to outcry. He will then discuss how his childhood experiences give him a unique perspective as a detective. These insights have helped him as he has worked and consulted on over two thousand child abuse cases. Attendees will walk away from this session with a deeper understanding of different perspectives on child abuse.

During the presentation, the attendee will hear a firsthand account from the abuse survivor. Upon completion, the attendee will obtain first-hand knowledge of grooming patterns, victim selection, and the mindset of the abused child.
