Recent high-profile cases have highlighted challenges, both predictable and less-so, to the introduction of visual evidence in court. This workshop, taught by a forensic examiner and former prosecutor, will discuss practical approaches to the introduction of visual evidence in the courtroom with an emphasis on accuracy, admissibility, and impact on the jury. Attendees will learn to utilize pretrial motions to maximize admissibility of visual evidence, analyze and counter defense challenges to the display of visual evidence using recent case examples, and articulate best practices for use of visual exhibits in the courtroom.
