Combating the Victim's "Consent:" Jury Selection in Child Abuse Cases

This presentation will focus on ideas for structuring a jury selection in cases where you have an older victim who is actively searching for sexual partners but is still under the legal age of consent. Experience proves that we will be unsuccessful if we only focus on the fact that a child cannot legally consent to sex when a 16-year-old is utilizing dating apps. The presenter will discuss strategies and suggest questions and topics to assist prosecutors in jury selection when they have to overcome the victim's perceived "consent."
