Purpose: : Generally, PICC line placements are protected by stockinettes. These are difficult to remove for site access, as well as to wear and clean. Not only does this cause the patient emotional distress, but it can also amplify complications with the PICC line itself, such as dislodgements or blood infections.
Methods: : By leveraging input from patients, clinicians, and designers, Care+Wear created a soft, antimicrobial, and breathable PICC line cover, designed to replace the traditional stockinette.
Results: : The use of the Care+Wear PICC Line Cover resulted in an NPS score of 72. Focused on patient empowerment, Care+Wear aims to restore a sense of normalcy, dignity, and comfort.
