Abigail Vowels, RN, is currently the Circulatory Device Program Leader at Dignity Health in Sacramento, CA. A registered nurse since 2001, Ms. Vowels has spent the last 8 years focused on caring for those with heart failure, working in cardiovascular ICUs and step-down units and now serving as the Program Leader for circulatory devices including the post-hospital continuing services for these vulnerable patients. In 2018, she proudly assisted with the development of the first Heart Failure/LVAD education and implantation program in Pakistan, including serving on the team that performed the first LVAD implantation in the country. Since then, she has served as the Nursing Director/LVAD Program Development Consultant for the National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease in Karachi, Pakistan. On her return from Pakistan, she founded Help Me Help U (HMHU), a non-profit organization focusing on the need for medical services in under-developed countries. She received her associate nursing degree from Owensboro Community College, and her bachelor’s in nursing from Walden University. She went on to receive her Master’s in Business Administration from Walden University in 2019.
