Dr. Heather Cheng is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Oncology) at the University of Washington. She completed MD and PhD training as part of the University of Washington Medical Scientist Training Program, and Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Washington through the American Board of Internal Medicine Research Pathway. Dr. Cheng is a medical oncologist with clinical and research expertise at the intersection of germline and somatic genetics of prostate cancer, as related to precision oncology care, the treatment of men with prostate cancer and the familial implications of cancer risk. To help patients and their oncology providers keep pace and translate rapid progress in research to clinical practice, she launched the Prostate Cancer Genetics Clinic at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and leads the Prostate Cancer Clinical Trial Consortium Germline Genetics Working Group.
