Dr. Sundaram is presently the director of minimally invasive surgery and the Welch Professor of Urology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is also Program Director of the residency program. He has directed the Endourological Society recognized fellowship in Minimally Invasive Urology since 2003. He was director of the fellowship in minimally invasive urology at Washington University in St. Louis before moving to Indiana University in 2002. He has been the recipient of several awards including the AUA's Distinguished Contribution Award.
Dr. Sundaram has over 200 peer-reviewed publications related to minimally invasive urologic surgery, kidney cancer and other conditions of the kidney; and adrenal neoplasms. He is Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Endourology, Founding Editor of Videourology , Treasurer of the Endourological Society and a member of the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons. He represented the North Central Section on the Board of Directors of the American Urological Association, 2015-2020 and has been the President of the Society of Urologc Robotic Surgeons. He has been invited faculty and speaker at multiple institutions and at national and international meetings.
