I have received MD in 1992 and PhD in 1999 from the School of Medicine at Kobe University. In parallel, I also worked as a research fellow at Department of Urology, University of Virginia, USA, from 1996 to 1998. In 2001, I was appointed as Assistant Professor at Graduate School of Medicine, Kobe University (Dept. of Urology, and International Center for Medical Research) and was promoted to Associate Professor (Center for Infectious Disease, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine) since 2005. In 2010, I received appointments as the Director of the Division of Translational Research for Biologics, Graduate School of Medicine, and I have been holding the Professorship at Kobe University from 2015. Since 2016, I have been directing the Laboratory of Translational Research for Biologics, Division of Advanced Medical Science, Kobe University Graduate School of Science, Technology and Innovation.
