Urology Resident

Michelle Sheng is currently a PGY-4 urology resident at Emory. She earned her B.S. from Pennsylvania State University in 2014, and subsequently earned her M.D. from Sidney Kimmel Medical College (previously known as Jefferson Medical College) in 2018.
While in medical school, Michelle participated in research involving opioid requirements and post-operative outcomes within the Neurosurgery Department. With her switch in specialty interest to Urology, she continues to be interested in examining the use/misuse/stewardship of opiates, and expanding the role of adjunct medications/procedures to optimize pain and post-operative outcomes. Since residency, her research focus has expanded to include population and gender related inquiries. In particular, she is interested in evaluating the current state of gender bias, inequality, and inequity in residency training. Outside of academics, Michelle's interests include cooking, piano, rock climbing and running.
