Mary Beth Westerman is an assistant professor of Urology at LSU Health Science Center, New Orleans and a Co-Director of Urologic Oncology. She serves the associate residency program director. She completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2021 after doing her residency training at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. She received her MD from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas and her BA from Dartmouth College.

In her current practice, she treats patients with all urologic cancers utilizing both open and minimally invasive approaches. Her practice emphasizes access and enrollment on clinical trials, where appropriate. Surgically, she has an interest in incorporating new techniques to improve patient outcomes, such as female pelvic organ sparing during radical cystectomy, retizius sparing prostatectomy, and robotic inguinal lymphadenectomy.

She has authored more than 60 peer reviewed publications and is a board member of the Young Urologic Oncology group of the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO-YUO).
