Alex Xu is currently a third-year resident in urology at NYU Langone Health in New York City. His research interests remain broad - he has authored papers ranging in topics from robotic upper tract reconstruction to examining the impact of social media on prostate cancer to long-term outcomes after radical prostatectomy. He has a special interest in medical and surgical education and hopes to play a role in training residents and medical students in the future. He is looking at possibily applying to reconstructive urology fellowships next year. Alex was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and attended Columbia University where he earned a B.A. in biology. He went on to attend New York University Grossman School of Medicine where he earned his M.D. in three years as part of the acceleterated pathway and matched into urology at NYU. In his free time, Alex enjoys trying new restaurants and new recipes at home as well as traveling whenever possible.
