University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
Mr. Aaron Gurayah (B.A.) is currently a third-year medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He graduated from Princeton University in 2018, where he obtained a degree in Molecular Biology and a minor in Global Health & Health Policy. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted his senior thesis research on assessing DNA methylation as a link in the association between neighborhood air pollution and cognitive deficits in children. This independent project was recognized with Princeton’s 2018 Global Health Prize.
After graduating, Aaron became a research fellow at the National Human Genomics Research Institute (NHGRI) at the National Institutes of Health. During this fellowship, he interviewed parent-caregivers of children with inherited metabolic disorders and investigated the accessibility of healthcare and social support resources for families affected by these rare metabolic conditions.
At the University of Miller School of Medicine, Aaron has become highly involved with the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, conducting research with Dr. Ranjith Ramasamy, Dr. Chad Ritch, and Dr. Raveen Syan. His current interest includes urologic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and andrology.
