My name is John Matthew Perry and I am a medical student at UC San Diego School of Medicine. I am finishing a research gap year between my third and fourth years of medical school. I have had the privilege of working under and learning from Dr. Ithaar Derweesh in the Department of Urology at UCSD Health during this past year. I am planning on applying into pediatrics during the upcoming residency cycle and I am interested in pursuing a career in academic medicine while incorporating clinical research.
