Anirban Mitra, MD, PHD

Anirban Mitra, MD, PhD, is currently a Fellow in Urologic Oncology in the Department of Urology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. After graduating medical school from the University of Mumbai, India, he completed his PhD from the University of Southern California. He then finished residency training in the Institute of Urology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and LAC+USC Medical Center. His clinical interests include all aspects of urologic surgery with specific emphasis on open and minimally invasive urologic oncology. His research pursuits include studying the molecular mechanisms behind causation and progression of genitourinary malignancies, with a major focus on urinary bladder cancer. The overall goal of his investigations is to identify and construct prognostic models that can better predict patient outcome and therapeutic response for these diseases.
