Shengkun Sun, associate professor in the Department of Urology, Chinese PLA General Hospital, is interested in bladder cancer. He got his Bachelor's degree at the Third Military Medical University in China, and got his Doctor's degree at Chinese PLA Medical School. He was also a visiting scholar in UCLA in 2014. He is familiar with urologic laparoscopic, robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgeries including radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, adrenalectomy, UPJ-plasty, radical cystectomy, et al. In 2012 he began to perform accurate transurethral resection of bladder tumor by using a needle electrode. This novel surgery method can obviate obturator nerve reflex completely without the need of nerve block. He is also interested in 3-dimentional reconstruction, and for the first time he proposed Digital Kidney to facilitate the laparoscopic nephron sparing surgery.
