Richard “Jake” Fantus is a reproductive urologist at NorthShore University HealthSystem in the northern suberbs of Chicago. He completed his undergraduate training at Washington University in St. Louis where he received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. It was also during this time he attained certification as a personal trainer and developed his interest in male health. He went on to attend Baylor College of Medicine for medical school where he graduated as valedictorian. He spent the next six years as a urology resident at the University of Chicago and ultimately completed a fellowship in training in andrology, sexual medicine and male infertility at Northwestern. Jake has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and remains actively engaged in research relating to how genetics and lifestyle modifications affect men’s health.
