Akio Horiguchi, MD, PhD

Dr. Akio Horiguchi graduated from Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan in 1994. He underwent residency training in general surgery and urology in Keio University Hospital and further developed expertise of reconstructive urologic surgeries. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Urology at Japan’s National Defense Medical College. His principal area of clinical work is urethral reconstruction and he had experienced more than 1000 urethroplasties. He has more than 100 publications on genitourinary reconstructive surgery in local and international journals. He is a board member of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS).
