Vishnukamal Golla MD, MPH is a board-eligible urologist who is a currently a fellow in the Duke University National Clinician Scholars Program (NCSP) which is the one of the premier health services research programs in the country. He has been awarded several grants studying the quality of care in the U.S including the American Urological Association Residency Research Award and the HH Lee Surgical Research Award. This work informed targets for improved patient outcomes in bladder cancer patient service lines and health policy relevant targets for improving guideline concordant care in this population.
As a Duke NCSP fellow, he partnered with the Division of Urology, Duke Margolis Policy Center, Duke Cancer Research Institute, Duke-CTSI, and the Durham VA to continue his work in the population science and health policy centered around shifting specialty care into value-based models that incentivize higher quality, lower cost care that aligns financial incentives with outcomes that matter to patients. He will continue to provide clinical care and resident education as a Clinical instructor in the Division of Urology at the Durham VA. His career goal is to transform the healthcare payment and delivery system to drive high quality, affordable healthcare while improving the patient and provider experience.
