Gianluca Giannarini is a urologic surgeon at Santa Maria della Misericordia University Hospital in Udine, Italy. He qualified from the University of Udine, and trained at the Urology Department of the University of Florence, Pisa and Leuven (Belgium) before a 2-year clinical research fellowship at the Urology Department of the University of Bern (Switzerland).
He holds the National Italian Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in Urology.
He is Associate Editor of European Urology Oncology, Chair of the EAU Guidelines Office Dissemination Committee, Full Board Member of the EAU Section of Oncological Urology (ESOU), Associate Member of the EAU Section of Urological Imaging (ESUI), Assistant Director of the Marketing Subcommittee of the Global Society of Rare Genitourinary Tumors (GSRGT), and Member of the Scientific Office of the Italian Society of Urology (SIU).
He authored more than 200 articles published in peer-reviewed journals, mostly in the field of urologic oncology and imaging. He has been invited as speaker at numerous international meetings. He was awarded the Matula Italian Award for his scientific merits as a young urologist in 2014.
His clinical and research interests focus on urologic oncology (prostate and urothelial cancer) and imaging (prostate and bladder multiparametric MRI).
