Prof. Vincenzo Ficarra was born in October the 2nd 1969, in Messina (Italy). He graduated in 1993 at the University of Messina and completed his residency in urology in 1998 at the School of Medicine of the University of Verona, Italy. From January 2007, he is professor in the school of urology, nephrology and endocrinology at the University of Padua. Moreover, he has been teacher in a master of urogynecology and in another of Andrology. From June 2011 he is the Scientific Director of the OLV Robotic Surgery Institute in Aalst, Belgium. From 2012 is Fellow of European Board of Urology (FEBU).
From July 2013 he was Professor of Uroloy at the Department of Urology, University of Udine, Italy. From May 2017 he is full professor and Director of urologic department of University of Messina, Italy. Prof. Ficarra is member of Academy of Association of European Urology.
Prof. Ficarra is Associate Editor of British Journal of Urology (BJU) International journal. He is reviewer and member of the Editorial Board of European Urology. Moreover, he is reviewer of the following journals: Journal Clinical Oncology, Lancet oncology, Cancer, Cancer Treatment Review, Journal of Urology, European Urology, Urology, BJU International, Urologia Internationalis, Journal of Endourology, Journal Postgraduate Medicine, Indian Journal of Urology, Asian Journal of Andrology, International Journal of Urology. In 2008, he was the winner of the Crystal Matula Award. Prof. Ficarra is author of 354 papers published on international journals indexed in Medline and Scopus. Furthermore, Prof. Ficarra is author and coauthor of 5 monographies and 8 book chapters. His current impact factor is 2.366. His current citation index is 11.862. The h index is 57.
