R. Matthew Coward, MD, FACS is an Associate Professor of Urology and Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UNC School of Medicine, Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at UNC Fertility in Raleigh, NC, and Program Director for the UNC Andrology and Men’s Health Fellowship. He earned his MD with Distinction at UNC, completed his urology residency at UNC, and then completed a fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine from 2012-2013. Dr. Coward’s clinical practice focuses in the areas of male reproduction and fertility. Having published more than 75 scientific articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, Dr. Coward’s research interests include clinical trials in reproductive medicine, male infertility, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, sexual dysfunction, and hypogonadism. Dr. Coward is a current member of the AUA Leadership Class of 2022, and he currently serves as a Member-at-Large for the Board of Directors at the SSMR and SMRU.
