Andrea Salonia, MD PhD, is a Full Professor of Urology at University Vita-Salute San Raffaele and a full staff urologist at the Academic Unit of Urology of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, Italy
Prof. Salonia received his medical degree from the University of the Milan School of Medicine and he completed his residency in urology at the University of Trieste, in Trieste, Italy, and his residency in endocrinology at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele of Milan.
Prof. Salonia is the Director of URI-Urological Research Institute, the translational research institute of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, Italy, where physician scientists and preclinical researchers are completely devoted to preclinical and clinical research in the field of urologic oncology, functional urology, sexual and reproductive medicine.
Likewsie, Prof. Salonia is the Dean of the Studies of the International Medical Doctor Program of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy.
Prof. Salonia’s major research interests have included several urological areas with a specific focus on pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of men and women sexual dysfunctions, male reproduction, bladder and prostate cancer.
Prof. Salonia has held positions in the scientific committee of the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM), of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS), the Italian Society of Andrology (SIA) and the Italian Society of Urology (SIU). Prof. Salonia is the current Responsible Officer for the Educational Office of the Italian Society of Urology (SIU).
Prof. Salonia is the Chairman of the panel on Sexual and Reproductive Health of the European Association of Urology (EAU) Guidelines.
Prof. Salonia is an official Editorial Board member of European Urology and Scientific Reports, and a past deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Sexual Medicine.
