Brad Figler received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Urology at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Following residency, Dr. Figler completed a two-year fellowship in Genitourinary Trauma and Male Reconstruction at University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center with Dr. Hunter Wessells and Dr. Bryan Voelzke. During this time, Dr. Figler also worked at the Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center, where he pursued an interest in health services research. After his fellowship training, Dr. Figler worked at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia as Assistant Professor of Urology and Director of Reconstructive Urology. In 2016, Dr. Figler joined UNC as an Assistant Professor of Urology. Along with Dr. Coward, Dr. Figler serves as fellowship faculty for the UNC Urology Men's Health Fellowship.
Dr. Figler's practice offer's comprehensive Men's Health services. Specific interests and areas of expertise include sexual medicine, penile prosthesis implantation, Peyronie's Disease, male urinary incontinence and male urethral/genital reconstruction for diseases including lichen sclerosis, genital skin deficiency, buried penis, hidradenitis, fistula, stricture and genital cancer.
Dr. Figler's research interests include access to urologic surgery and strategies to address barriers, including telemedicine; clinical outcomes and innovative techniques in reconstructive urology; urogenital trauma epidemiology and management.
