Sherb Figenshau, MD is the Taylor Family and Ralph V. Clayman, MD Chair in Minimally Invasive Urology at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Figenshau completed residency training at Washington University School of Medicine in 1993. He was exraordinarily fortunate to be in training at a time when Dr. Ralph Clayman performed the first laparoscopic nephrectomy and Dr. William Catalona did the first large scale community based PSA screening study for prostate cancer at Washington University. Dr. Figenshau is grateful for having had the best mentoring and training during his residency.
After completing residency, Dr. Figenshau stayed at Washington University and has focused on the minimally invasive and nephron-sparing treatment of patients with renal masses. He has extensive experience in the management of patients with incidentally discovered small renal masses. He also has a greater than 25 year experience in treating men with prostate cancer.
