Maude Carmel, M.D., FRCSC, FPMRS is an Assistant Professor of Urology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She earned her medical degree in Canada at Université de Sherbrooke. She completed her residency in urology at both Université de Sherbrooke and McGill University. She completed her fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. She is board certified by the American Board of Urology in both Urology and FPMRS and by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Urology. Her clinical practice focuses mainly on robotic surgery for pelvic floor disorders, treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal mesh complication and voiding dysfunction in the setting of neurologic disease. Topics of her current and ongoing research include robotic reconstructive surgeries for pelvic floor disorders, imaging modalities for the evaluation of pelvic organ prolapse and resident education. She is the FPMRS fellowship director at UT Southwestern and medical director of the Center for Incontinence and Voiding Dysfunction at Parkland Memorial Hospital. She was named Top Doctors Rising Star by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
