Dana W. Giel, MD, is a Professor of Urology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. She serves as the Program Director of the Pediatric Urology Fellowship Program housed at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as well as Director of Research for the UTHSC Division of Pediatric Urology. She is also the surgical director and clinic co-director for the OPTIonS DSD multidisciplinary clinic at LeBonheur. She serves on the Societies for Pediatric Urology Executive Council as well as being current President Elect of the Society for Fetal Urology. She is an author for the AUA Core Curriculum as well as book chapters and peer-reviewed manuscripts. Dr. Giel is a strong proponent for mentoring, and has a focus of burnout and work/life balance education as well. She and her husband, Tom, enjoy being parents of their 14 year-old son, Maddox, and the family enjoys traveling and watching Memphis Grizzlies basketball together.
