Dr. Kashish Khanna, MBBS, MS, MRCS (Edin), MCh (Pediatric Surgery), Senior Research Associate (Ex), is presently pursuing her PhD at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India since 2020. She received the highest honours in her class (Gold medal) all through her medical and surgical training. She has presented more than 55 papers at various national and international conferences and won many prizes. Notable among them are the SIOP best poster award, IPSO Scholarship (2014), Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgery scholar (2015), K K Sharma award (2017), Kane International Scholar (2019), the Best paper award at the annual conference of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons and is the recipient of this year’s coveted AUA/IAUA Chakrobortty fellowship. She has published 42 articles including original article, reviews, video, images and case reports and 4 book chapters, in various indexed journals on topics like urodynamics in follow-up patients of sacroccygeal teratomas, hydrometrocolpos, congenital pouch colon, genetics in anorectal malformations, lumboscopic assisted pyeloplasty, congenital megalourethra and conjoined twins. She has special interest in Pediatric urology and is presently working on the role of newer biomarkers in patients with bladder exstrophy. She is also a trained Indian classical and Indian folk dancer and loves to perform the Chirmi/Bhavai form of Rajasthani dance where matkis (pot) lit with fire are delicately balanced on the head while dancing and performing various stunts. She believes, like dance, surgery is also a form of art.
