Brian R. Lane, MD, PhD, FACS, is the Betz Family Endowed Chair for Cancer Research at Spectrum Health and Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He has also served as Chief of Urology and Physician Lead of the Robotic and Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery Program within Spectrum Health. He completed the MD/PhD program at University of Michigan and residency in Urology and fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Lane has served as an AUA Foundation Scholar and member of the AUA Guidelines Committee for Renal Mass and Localized Renal Cancer. He was also a former member of the ACGME Review Committee for Urology. Dr. Lane is Program Director for the Michigan Urological Surgery Improvement Collaborative (MUSIC) KIDNEY initiative, a physician-led quality improvement collaborative comprised of ~90% of urologists in Michigan. His primary clinical interests include kidney cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, and adrenal cancer. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications in urology and oncology.
