Derek Lomas, MD, Pharm.D is an Assistant Professor of Urology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. He completed his Urology Residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. Upon completion of his Urology residency, he traveled to the United Kingdom as a Mayo Clinic Scholar for fellowship training in prostate cancer focal therapy at Imperial College London and University College London. Dr. Lomas’ clinical and research interests involve prostate diagnostics and risk stratification, prostate MRI, transperineal prostate biopsy, and focal ablative therapies for prostate cancer including high-intensity focused ultrasound, cryotherapy, and irreversible electroporation.
