Christopher Porter, MD, FACS
Dr. Christopher Porter is the Director of Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship in the Section of Urology and Renal Transplantation, and Medical Director of Clinical Research at Virginia Mason Medical Center. He received his B.S. at University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, MI with majors in Philosophy and Microbiology. He graduated with his M.D at Rush University College of Medicine, Chicago, IL. Dr. Porter completed his urology residency at Brown University, Providence, RI and then pursued a fellowship in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York. Dr. Porter joined Virginia Mason in 2002.
Dr. Porter has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and more than 200 published abstracts and academic presentations on urologic oncology issues. He has enjoyed being involved in clinical research and has had the privilege of presenting his work at various national and international meetings as well as participating as chair, faculty, and moderator of expert panels in similar forums.
Dr. Porter is a member of several leading societies. He is also the Chair of the Urologic Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging Committee in the Urologic Association and is the Secretary for the Western-Section, American Urological Association. Dr. Porter has received several awards including American Urological Association Leadership Program, Western Section Representative in 2010.
