Ian M Thompson Jr, MD is President of The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Foundation, a member of The Texas Urology Group, and Professor Emeritus of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is former Chair of Urology at UTHSCSA and former Cancer Center Director. Previous positions include President of the SUO, President of the American Board of Urology, Steering Committee Chair of the Early Detection Research Network of the NCI, and he is a current member of the Board of Scientific Advisors of the National Cancer Institute as well as current Chair of the GU Committee of SWOG. He has led multiple national clinical trials related to prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer.
