Dr. Srinivasan is an Investigator and Head of the Molecular Cancer Section in the Urologic Oncology Branch, National Cancer Institute (NCI). He graduated from Bangalore Medical College, India, in 1991 obtaining an M.B., B.S. degree. Dr. Srinivasan subsequently pursued graduate studies at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, obtaining a Ph.D. in 1996. He came to the NCI in 1999 after completing his Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, to pursue a fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology. He subsequently joined the Urologic Oncology Branch, where he is developing treatment strategies and conducting clinical trials for patients with both hereditary and non-hereditary forms of kidney cancer. His research focus includes the preclinical and clinical development of novel targeted agents in clear cell and papillary kidney cancer, as well as hereditary kidney cancer syndromes such as von Hippel-Lindau, hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer (HLRCC) and hereditary papillary renal cell cancer (HPRC).
