Dr. Craig Rogers received his medical degree from Stanford University and completed his urology residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at the National Cancer Institute. From this experience and several international initiatives through the Vattikuti Urology Institute, he helped pioneer the development of the robotic partial nephrectomy procedure.Dr. Rogers specializes in surgery for kidney, prostate, and adrenal tumors and is one of the most experienced robotic kidney surgeons in the world. He performed the first live webcast of a complex RPN and the first live surgical demonstration of RPN surgeries at the AUA National Meetings.Dr. Rogers helped establish research consortiums with other major centers to study and improve outcomes. He published the first descriptions of RPN for complex tumors and patients. He has led international invited expert reviews on partial nephrectomy techniques. He has authored over 150 publications and numerous book chapters and is a reviewer and editorial board member for urologic journals. His presentations nationally and internationally about robotic kidney, adrenal, and prostate surgery have won national and international awards. He has been the Course Instructor for an Annual Advanced Robotic Kidney and Prostate Surgery Course for over seven years that includes a national faculty. Dr. Rogers is innovative, helping to develop robotic ultrasound probes, robotic bulldog clamps, and other novel techniques that have become routinely used during RPN. He serves as the Fellowship Director as well as the Medical Director of the Vattikuti Urology Institute Center for Outcomes Research Analytics and Evaluation. He is the Chairman, Department of Urology at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Rogers is a dedicated clinician and researcher, who strives to bring superior outcomes to cancer patients in Detroit and the surrounding communities.
