Nicol Corbin Bush, MD, MSCS, is the founder and co-director of the Hypospadias Specialty Center, a practice dedicated to repair of penile birth defects. She completed urology residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and spent a year at the National Institutes of Health Urologic Oncology Branch. After a fellowship in pediatric urology at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Dr. Bush obtained a Masters in Clinical Science from UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Her research includes risk factors and wound healing in patients with hypospadias, as well as body image and patient-centered outcomes in those with genital birth defects. In addition to her faculty role in the AUA annual meeting course Primary and Reoperative Hypospadias Repair since 2014, she has lectured and operated in live-surgery workshops throughout the world and works with numerous surgeons to establish international standardized outcomes for hypospadias repair. As President of the non-profit Operation Happenis, Dr. Bush is raising awareness about penile birth defects. She is also a member of Science Cheerleaders, a group of former NFL cheerleaders inspiring young women to consider science and engineering careers. Dr. Bush is the proud mother of four children and lives in Frisco, Texas.
