Hypospadias Surgeon
Hypospadias Specialty Center
Warren Snodgrass MD is co-founder of the Hypospadias Specialty Center, the only practice in North America devoted to repairing hypospadias and related penile birth defects. The Center manages all forms of hypospadias, focusing on proximal repairs and reoperations, with patients traveling from all 50 states and over 60 countries for the expertise of Dr Snodgrass and his colleague, Dr Nicol Bush. In the spirit of Horton and Devine, they work together as a surgical team to provide optimal care to boys, teens and adults with penile birth defects.
Dr Snodgrass is known worldwide for TIP repair, commonly referred to as the "Snodgrass" procedure. He and Dr Bush also refined 2-stage grafts into two techniques called STAG (STraighten And Graft) and STAC (STraighten And Close). As these names imply, straightening curvature is a key part of repairing proximal hypospadias, best accomplished using 3 corportomies Dr Snodgrass described 20 years ago. Using TIP, STAG and STAC surgeons can repair all hypospadias, which simplifies decision-making and allows them to focus on performing the operation in the best way.
Dr Snodgrass is the most published author on hypospadias surgery in history, and with Dr Bush has written their own textbook, HYPOSPADIOLOGY. They also produce webinars such as the Hypospadias Masterclass Series and post surgical videos on their YouTube channel.
In addition,he passionately advocates for surgical improvement through the 3Ps: Prospective data collection, Periodic outcomes review, and Practice changes.
Finally, he is co-founder of Operation Happenis, a non-profit raising awareness of the most common birth defect no one has heard of. OH is announcing the 1st International Hypospadias Heroes Day, scheduled April 28, 2023, to recognize boys and men, parents and loved ones affected by hypospadias, as well as the surgeons and other care providers who work to make hypospadias into a normal penis.
