Ira D. Sharlip, MD

Ira D. Sharlip, M.D. is Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of California at San Francisco. He received his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his urological training at the University of California at San Francisco and the Middlesex Hospital in London, England. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Sharlip’s academic interests are in sexual medicine and reproductive urology. He is Past-President of the International Society for Sexual Medicine and Past-President of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. A member of the American Urological Association (AUA) for over 40 years, Dr. Sharlip has chaired many AUA committees. Currently, he chairs the Vasectomy Guideline Update Literature Review and vice-chairs the Ejaculatory Disorders guidelines panel.
