R Charles Welliver Jr, MD is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Men’s Health in the Department of Urology at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. He is fellowship trained in Andrology with a practice solely focusing on men's health.
He has received awards both regionally and nationally for his research. His areas of special interest include erectile dysfunction, optimization of penile prosthetics, factors affecting male fertility and voiding dysfunction in men. He is a frequent lecturer at regional and national meetings.
He is a dedicated journal article reviewer for multiple urologic journals and won “Best Reviewer” in BPH/sexual function/infertility from the Journal of Urology in 2016 and 2019 along with “Top Reviewer” for Urology Practice in 2020. He is involved with the American Urologic Association at a national level as a member of the BPH guidelines committee, public media committee and the Urology Cares Foundation as part of the prostate health committee. He is a section editor for the AUA Core Curriculum.
