Dr. Tan is an Assistant Professor of Urology in the Department of Urology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specializing in urologic oncology. He graduated from Duke University with undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Economics. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan where he also completed his residency in urology. Afterwards, he pursued advanced fellowship training in urologic oncology and health services research through the Institute of Urologic Oncology and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program at UCLA. Currently, he is a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and is committed to providing personalized, high quality care to patients with kidney, prostate, bladder, and testicular cancer. To meet the health needs of his patients, Dr. Tan’s research focuses on decision-making and risk communication, data-driven cancer care delivery, as well as the comparative effectiveness of new cancer treatments. His research findings have been featured in the Journal of Urology, Cancer, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
