Dr. Zachary L. Smith is an assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Urologic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, where he is the Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship program director. His clinical interests lie in urologic oncology, and his research focuses on biomarkers for urologic malignancies, clinical trials, perioperative optimization, and new surgical techniques. Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, and completed both an internship in general surgery and residency in urology at The University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship at The University of Chicago. He has published his research in numerous journals and has presented at various professional meetings in the USA and internationally. Among other professional organizations, Dr. Smith is a member of the American Urological Association, the Society of Urologic Oncology, the Société Internationale d’Urologie, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Medical Association. He is on the NCCN Kidney Cancer Guidelines panel.
