Kevan M. Sternberg, M.D. is an Associate Professor at the University of Vermont. He completed medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2004 and then remained at the University of Buffalo to complete residency in urology from 2004-2009. Following residency, Dr. Sternberg pursued fellowship training in endourology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. After 2 years of practice in Buffalo, he joined the University of Vermont in 2012 where he focuses clinically on the surgical and medical management of kidney stones disease. He also serves as the director of Urologic research for the division of Urology. His research interests involve quality initiatives focused on kidney stone and renal colic imaging and opioid avoidance after urologic surgery. He is also involved in clinical research on urolithiasis and was recently elected into the Research on Calculus Kinetics (ROCK) Society. Dr. Sternberg's interest in healthcare quality has earned him a position on the AUA Quality Improvement Patient Safety (QIPS) Committee. He is also currently participating in the 2021 AUA leadership class, serves as a lecturer for the endourology curriculum for the AUA Life Long Learning review course, and recently was appointed as an associate editor for the Urology Gold Journal.
