Todd M. Morgan, M.D. is the Jack Lapides, M.D, Research Professor and Chief of Urologic Oncology at the University of Michigan, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of genitourinary malignancies. Dr. Morgan is a translational surgeon-scientist, and the primary focus of his laboratory is on identifying clinically relevant molecular approaches to predict response and resistance to treatment in men with prostate cancer. He did his Urology residency at the University of Washington and Urologic Oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University prior to starting as faculty at the University of Michigan. In addition to his laboratory, Dr. Morgan leads a number of studies seeking to understand how patient and tumor genetics should impact approaches to prostate cancer detection and management. Dr. Morgan has authored over 200 original publications and textbook chapters, and he has received Young Investigator Awards from the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Society for Urological Oncology, National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), and Society for Basic Urology Research. He has served or currently serves on a number of national guideline committees, including the AUA Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer Guidelines, the AUA Advanced Prostate Cancer Guidelines, the NCCN Prostate Cancer Guidelines, The ASCO Localized Prostate Cancer Guideline, and the ASCO Molecular Markers for Prostate Cancer Guidelines. He also is an Associate Editor for European Urology. His research is supported by multiple sources and includes funding from the Department of Defense, National Cancer Institute, and the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
