Sung Kyu Hong, M.D., Ph.D. has graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine, Korea and currently working as Professor and Chairman, Department of Urology, Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea. His main focus of interest lies in prostate cancer and other urologic cancers. Dr. Hong performs various uro-oncological surgeries including robotic prostatectomy. Among Korean urologists, Dr. Hong has been responsible for publications of the highest number of articles on clinical researches regarding prostate cancer published in peer-reviewed international SCI-indexed journals during recent years. Currently, he also serves as the the editor-in-chief of Prostate International (PI; 2022 IF 3.0), and the deputy editor for Investigative and Clinical Urology (ICUrol; formerly known as Korean Journal of Urology; 2022 IF 2.3), both journals being indexed in SCI. He is also a scientific reviewer for European Urology, Journal of Urology, The Prostate, British Journal of Urology International, UROLOGY, International Journal of Urology, BMC Urology, Journal of Medicinal Food, and Korean Journal of Urology. He is also active member of various academic societies, working as the president of Korean Prostate Society, the chair of Urotechnology and Training for Societe Internationale d'Urologie (SIU), the elected council member of Urological Association of Asia (UAA), the chair of international relations for Korean Urological Association (KUA), and the director of international communications for Asian Pacific Prostate Society (APPS). Dr. Hong is also an international member of American Urological Association (AUA) and a corresponding member of European Association of Urology (EAU).
