Having joined the Department of Urology at Einstein in 2001, I currently hold appointments as Professor of Urology and Molecular Pharmacology, and additionally serve as Director of Urology Basic Research Laboratories. With over two decades of experience, I've leveaged my expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology to deepen our comprehension of the underlying mechanisms contributing to urogenital diseases. My contributions include authoring over 80 peer-reviewed articles, with a consistent track record of securing extramural support for my research endeavors. Presently, I serve as an MPI on an NIH-sponsored training program designed for pre- and post-doctoral students aspiring to pursue research careers in the fields of kidney, urological, or hematological studies (nyckuhr.org).
I have held leadership roles in various national organizations dedicated to advancing basic science research in urological diseases. Notably, I immediate past President and board member of the Society for Pelvic Research (pelvicresearch.com), a member of the Research Advocacy Committee of the American Urological Association (auanet.org) and from 2017 to 2021, I acted as Chair of the Basic Science Committee and board member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (smsna.org).
