Mayo Clinic
I am a Consultant in the Department of Urology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida (1998 - present). I am a Professor of Urology, Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, and Program Director of the Urology Residency Mayo Clinic Florida. My academic contributions to Mayo Clinic have included Continuous Professional Development Committee (CME), Graduate Medical Education Committee, Personnel Committee and Academic Appointments and Promotions Committee. In 2000 I established the Urologic Residency at MCF and have served continuously as its Program Director. In 2016, I was awarded Mayo Clinic Florida Educator of the Year and in 2021 Program Director of the Year. From 2013 -2021, I served as Vice Chair of the Education Committee MCF.
My practice focus is Men’s Health: Erectile Dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, Male Urethral Stricture Disease, Male Stress Incontinence, and BPH.
I was a Fellow in Robert Wood Johnson Minority Medical Faculty Development Program in 1992. For 8 years I was Director, Center for the Study of Male Sexual Dysfunction, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Those areas of investigations were in physiology and cellular energetics of corporal smooth muscle.
I am an active member of the Florida Urologic Society, Southeastern Section AUA and the American Urological Association. I am co-founding member and Fellow of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. I have served as Secretary, Website Chair, Industry Relations Chair and SMSNA President (2005). I am currently Secretary to the SMSNA Foundation. In 2021, I was selected by the SMSNA Board of Directors to formulate a society position statement and Chair the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. I have served AUA Clinical Guidelines Committees for Priapism, Premature Ejaculation, and Erectile Dysfunction. I currently serve on the Survivorship Committee to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).
