Thomas Tailly graduated as a medical doctor from the Catholic University Leuven, Belgium in 2007. He went on to complete his urology residency training in 2013 at the same institution. During his Endourology Fellowship from 2013 to 2015 in London, Ontario, at Western University under the supervision of Dr. John Denstedt, Dr. Stephen Pautler and Dr. Hassan Razvi, he also finished a Masters of Science in Surgery. Afterwards he took a staff position as endourologist in the University Hospital of Ghent in Belgium, where he treats urinary stone disease, BPH as well as NMIBC and UTUC. He has a special interest in urological stents, uroradiology for stone disease, laser applications and training in endourology. In 2021 he has achieved the degree of PhD with a dissertation on urinary stone disease. Apart from his clinical work as endourologist, he is currently involved in clinical research on urolithiasis and its diagnostic and treatment modalities. He is part of the Young Academic Urologists and EAU section of Uro-Technology (ESUT). Additionally, he is the past chairman of the Young Endourological Society and he is still active in the Endourological Society as member of the research committee and the website committee. He enjoys passing on knowledge and skills through courses and live surgery.
