Learning Objectives:

Identify errors participants have made in their practice that have made them vulnerable to litigation which is independent of the competency of their practice.
Initiate strategies in practice to avoid litigation.
Determine how to best protect yourself from litigation and what steps to take if you are unfortunately named as a defendant.
Define the importance of seeking independent counsel and how vulnerable you can be if you are jointly named.

Thiscourse is intended to help those practicing urology avoid mistakes that will make them vulnerable to medical malpractice lawsuits. The course is unique because it is directed by both a preeminent plaintive malpractice attorney and a urologist who has for the course of his career been cognizant of the errors that can make one vulnerable.

The audience will be instructed on common errors that leave one vulnerable and sometimes defenseless. The audience will be instructed on what to do if named in an action.

The course is directed towards all practitioners residence fellows and ancillary office staff. The course is interactive and meant to educate the audience.
