Learning Objectives:

Define the indications for urodynamic techniques.
Interpret the nomenclature of voiding dysfunction.
Define the indications for urodynamics.
Interpret the following: • Uroflowmetry • Filling Cystometry • Pressure Flow Studies • Urethral pressure profilometry • Video Studies • Leak Point Pressure Measurement • Electromyography
Understand and interpret classic (and tricky) urodynamic studies.
Understand and interpret the following Urodynamic Diagnoses: • Detrusor Overactivity • Detrusor Underactivity • Diminished Bladder Compliance • Bladder Outlet Obstruction • Detrusor Hyperactivity with Impaired Contractility • Mixed Urinary Incontinence • Stress Urinary Incontinence • Urge Urinary Incontinence

Urodynamics are indicated when the care provider has a question, whose answer affects treatment decisions. Whether adult or child, male or female, neurogenic or non-neurogenic, urodynamics provides objective evidence to explain subjective symptoms. Precise definition of voiding function and dysfunction improves management of the patient with complex voiding dysfunction. This course will cover the indications for, methods for performing, and proper interpretation of simple and complex urodynamic studies for a large range of patients.
