The Dietary Supplement Health Education Act of 1994 or DSHEA permits the listing of non-nutrient, dietary ingredients as proprietary blends on product labels, without declaring the amounts of these ingredients within the blends. The session includes research findings on their use on product labels, regulations governing their use, industry perspectives about their use, how this affects intake and exposure estimates, and a discussion on whether currently proposed legislative efforts will affect the listing of proprietary blends on product labels.
