The Obesity RIS session will emphasize barriers and opportunities related to research translation. We will start with a 20-30 minute talk by Dr. Padma Maruvada from NIH/NIDDK to introduce the new NIH reserach area, Basic Experimental Science in Humans (BESH). Following Dr. Maruvada's talk, we will have 4-5 flash talks that highlight specific areas of obesity-related research where these issues of translatability occur. Speakers are TBD but will selected from Obesty RIS graduate students and postdocs.
